Build-A-Blend Create your own custom tea blend!! Looking for a blend that is just right for you? Look no further than Steep Right Up's Custom Build-A-Blend options! We will keep your blend recipe on file for you. Creating your own custom blend is super easy.... Let's get started, let's create a custom blend tea using a step-by-step process: Step 1: Decide which option is right for you. See below for option descriptions. New Blend Non-Exclusive New Blend Exclusive Step 2: Choose a Base Tea Start by selecting a base tea to build your blend upon. Common options include black tea (like Assam or Darjeeling), green tea (such as Sencha or Gunpowder), white tea (like Silver Needle or White Peony), or even caffeine-free options like Rooibos or Honeybush. Step 3: Select Your Spices and Flavorings Consider which spices and flavorings you'd like to incorporate into your blend. Common spices used in a chai blend include ginger, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, and black pepper. You can also experiment with other flavors like citrus zest, vanilla beans, or dried fruits. Step 4: Decide on Additional Ingredients Think about any additional ingredients you'd like to include for depth of flavor or health benefits. This could include herbs like mint or lemongrass, floral elements like rose petals or lavender, or even nuts like almonds or coconut flakes. Step 5: Name Your Blend Finally, give your custom tea blend a creative and fitting name that reflects its unique flavor profile or inspiration. This could be something whimsical, descriptive, or personal to you. Step 6: Formulating Begins (we do this for you) Once you've chosen your base tea, spices, and additional ingredients, we start experimenting with proportions. We take into consideration not only the ingredient selection you've made, but also your description and additional notes to achieve a desirable flavor profile. Step 7: Blend and Test (we do this for you) We blend your chosen ingredients together thoroughly and brew a small batch of your custom tea blend. We taste the brewed tea and make any necessary adjustments to the proportions of ingredients until we're satisfied with the flavor. Step 8: Package and Enjoy (we do this for you) Once we're sure you will be happy with your blend, we package it and add your custom label. Share your custom tea blend with friends and family or enjoy it yourself whenever you need a comforting cup of tea. Remember, creating a custom tea blend is a creative and enjoyable process, so don't be afraid to experiment and have fun with it! Build-A-Blend Form Once your form has been submitted and we approve the blend creation you will receive an email containing confirmation of the blend desired, an approximate re-order price (this is only approximate as we will not know exact until the blend is finalized), and an invoice. Find answers to common queries about our products, ordering process, and more on our FAQ page. Simplify your shopping experience and get the information you need quickly and conveniently. Explore FAQs on topics such as shipping, returns, customization options, and more. Get the answers you're looking for and shop with confidence at Steep Right Up. Tea-Truths (FAQ) Frequently asked questions Product Questions Policy Questions What type of products do you offer? We offer a wide selection of teas and tea accessories, herbs and herbal products, spices, gift packages and subscription boxes. We try to add new items frequently. And occasionally there may be a bath product or other locally crafted product available that goes with some of our teas. These items would be listed in the “Limited Edition” category when they are available. Where are your products made? We custom blend many of our teas and herbal tisanes in-house in small batches. However, the ingredients themselves are grown all over the world as most of them are not native to the United States. We do source from the US when available. Many of the flavor profiles of various teas, herbs, and florals are best when harvested from their native habitat. All of our products are labeled with a complete list of ingredients in order of predominance. We only use natural ingredients in our blends. What if I'm allergic to an ingredient? It is nearly impossible these days to make a product that 100% of the people can use 100% of the time. There are so many variations in allergies and sensitivities that exist. All of our products list all of the ingredients in their product descriptions. Should you be interested in a product that has an ingredient that you are sensitive to, or allergic to, please feel free to contact us. In many cases we can substitute an ingredient for you depending on which product and which ingredient. Teas that come to us pre-blended (not blended in-house) cannot be changed. Please be advised, however, that there may be a minimum purchase for custom formulations and pricing may vary from the original blend pricing. Are your products organic? We do use organic ingredients when available and when not cost prohibitive. While we do not have our facility certified organic, nor are our products certified organic, you can absolutely see what ingredients are organic by looking at our ingredient label on each product. Organic ingredients are indicated with an asterisk (*). Do you offer decaffeinated tea? Most of our herbal tisanes are naturally caffeine-free (there are a few exceptions including a few specific blends and anything that contains Yerba Maté, Guayusa, or Yaupon). We do not offer actual tea (Camellia sinensis) leaf that has been decaffeinated. In our opinion, the process in which the tea leaf undergoes in order to remove the caffeine negatively affects the quality and flavor of the brewed tea. And they are never truly 100% decaffeinated. Decaffeinated teas do not move as fast which means they will remain on our shelves for far too long and we pride ourselves in always providing the freshest, finest quality of tea to our customers. Do you offer private label? We are not currently offering private labeling options for our products. We do, however, offer a limited amount of custom labeling options (co-branding) for businesses, events, and occasions (favors). For more information please contact us so we can discuss your needs.

Discover the story behind our tea shop. Learn about our passion for quality tea, commitment to sustainability, and dedication to customer satisfaction. Explore our tea selection and experience the difference at Steep Right Up! Our Story Steep Right Up is North Carolina's ONLY tea shop that has TRAIN -side views, EXCLUSIVE small-batch blends, and story-driven tea EXPERIENCES , and home of That Crazy Tea Lady! Sip. Discover. Experience. Welcome to Steep Right Up ... where tea, trains, and a little bit of whimsy come together in perfect harmony! At Steep Right Up , we believe every cup of tea has a story to tell. What began with a lifelong love of herbs has grown into a place where tea is meant to be explored, experienced, and shared. From loose-leaf teas and small-batch blends to storytelling collections, classes, tastings, and thoughtfully created tea experiences, there is always something new to discover. How It All Started : Steep Right Up began long before there was a storefront. For more than 30 years, Melodie's love of herbs, tea, and natural wellness continued to grow, eventually becoming a dream of creating a tea shop of her own. Then came Downtown Garner. While attending a charity event, Melodie fell in love with the community's charm and had one very clear thought: this is where the tea shop belongs. A prayer, a leap of faith, and quite an adventure later, Steep Right Up found its home on Main Street, right beside the railroad tracks. Meet Melodie - The Visionary Behind the Brews: Melodie, affectionately known as "That Crazy Tea Lady", is the founder and creative force behind Steep Right Up. Her journey with herbs began more than 30 years ago and eventually grew to encompass herbalism, clinical aromatherapy, education, and, of course, tea. She's the one dreaming up new blends, creating tea experiences, teaching classes, telling stories, and routinely turning "I have an idea....." into whatever appears in the shop next. For Melodie, tea has never been simply a beverage. It's a way to explore plants, cultures, stories, creativity, ritual, flavor, and connection, preferably with a little whimsy along the way. When The Tea Lady is not working on her business, she is spending time with her family. She has a husband, four boys (all grown), several fur babies and feather babies (she's also known as "That Crazy Chicken Lady"), and so far, six grandchildren. She also enjoys reading, crocheting, and a variety of other crafts.. She is a Licensed Nail Technician, Licensed Manicurist Instructor, private educator, and mentor in the beauty industry. All of which go perfectly with a nice cup of tea. Meet Lisa - AKA The Other Tea Lady Every circus has its ringmaster, and every tea shop needs a Lisa. :-) Every tea shop needs someone who can keep up with the ideas, the tea, and the occasional chaos. For Steep Right Up, that person is Lisa. Lisa is the steady hand behind much of what happens both behind the counter and behind the scenes. From helping guests in the shop to blending and restocking teas in the Tea Lab, and managing our off-site events, she plays an important role in keeping Steep Right Up running and ensuring your favorite blends make it from our recipes to your cup. Originally from New York, Lisa found her way to North Carolina and eventually to Steep Right Up through a friendship that began long before she became part of the shop. What started with classes, conversation, and a shared love of learning grew into a friendship and working partnership that has become an important part of the Steep Right Up story. Known around here as The Other Tea Lady, Lisa brings her own warmth, humor, curiosity, and calm to the journey. She has continued to learn about tea along the way and is always ready to help guests discover something new. We may never know exactly where this tea journey is headed next, but we're awfully glad Lisa decided to come along for the ride. A note from Lisa : Hi ya'll! My name is Lisa. I was born and raised in New York. I have 4 amazing children on their way to adulthood. It's been quite a journey so far. God led me to NC to make a better life for my children and to marry the love of my life. I am also a chicken mama and quite obsessed with the idea of getting so many more. We came to a small church one morning and loved it from the moment we walked in. There we became a part of a foundations class that our one and only Melodie was teaching. She is one of a kind with so many God-given talents. We all got to know each other, and she invited me to work for her in her Grand Tea Shop. Of course, I accepted, and I've loved every step of the way. Not only do I love tea, but after researching and continuing to study, the benefits outweigh anything else it could offer me personally. I have loved working for Melodie. I've learned so much from her. I encourage everyone to take a journey through her tea shop. It might surprise you!
