Chai Spice #2

Ingredients: Licorice root*, orange peel*, cinnamon*, cardamom*, cloves*. (*organic)

1–2 tsp (3–6 g) 8–10 oz water 212°F 5–8 minutes

Steep covered, then strain well.

For iced tea: Double the amount of tisane.

Licorice root has been valued for centuries across numerous herbal traditions, including Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Western herbalism. Orange peel contributes an aromatic citrus character that brightens and balances the naturally sweet licorice and warming spices.

Together, these ingredients give Chai #2 its distinctive gently warming, naturally sweet, and aromatic character. Enjoy it on its own as a naturally caffeine-free herbal tisane, or blend it with black tea, green or white tea, rooibos, or another favorite tea to create your own chai.
