Matcha Japanese 2oz

Ingredients: japanese green tea*

½–1 tsp (1.5–3 g) matcha 4–8 oz water 175°F

Unlike loose-leaf tea, matcha is whisked rather than steeped. Because matcha is made from finely ground tea leaves, the entire leaf is consumed; there are no tea leaves to strain away.

Add matcha to a bowl or cup. Add a small amount of the hot water and whisk until smooth and free of clumps, then add the remaining water and whisk briskly until lightly frothy.

For a Matcha Latte: Prepare the matcha with 2–4 oz of 175°F water, then add warm or steamed milk of your choice. Sweeten or flavor as desired.

For Iced Matcha: Whisk the matcha with 2–4 oz of 175°F water until smooth, then pour over ice and add cold water or milk to taste.

Our Favorite: Try it as a hot or iced latte with almond milk and just a touch of lavender and vanilla.
